Settings reference
All settings live in Writrex → Settings, grouped into cards. Changes apply from the next generation.
AI provider configuration
Primary provider, fallback provider, per-provider API keys, model selection and temperature. See AI providers.
Image provider
Image source mode, stock provider and AI image provider with their keys and models, plus AI image size, quality, default style, prompt prefix and negative instructions. See Images.
SEO, indexing and Search Console

Business defaults
Used in prompts, templates, CTA buttons, contact details and structured data. Brand profiles can override them; blank profile fields inherit these.

Page generation defaults

Blog generation defaults
A fallback prompt for blog posts with the tokens [keyword] and [area]. Leave blank to use the Blog Automator's content controls.
Voice Writing
Turn Voice Writing on or off, choose whether Writrex reads your brief back, allow spoken yes/no confirmation and set the default speech language. Each setting and why it matters is explained in Voice Writing.
Content safety
- Output scrubber (recommended) removes editorial notes, unfilled placeholders and AI commentary before content is saved.
- Hold for review (recommended) saves the item as a draft instead of publishing whenever cleanup was needed.
Ask Writrex settings
Ask Writrex has its own settings: default provider, model and effort, Send page text to the AI provider, Let Editors use Ask Writrex, and the floating button on admin screens and on the website. Open them from Ask Writrex settings at the bottom of the chat list. See Ask Writrex settings.
AI Visibility
Writrex → AI Visibility controls how AI crawlers treat your site. For an overview, see the AI Visibility feature page.
- Per-bot rules allow or block AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended. They are written into robots.txt as a separate marked block that leaves the rest of the file alone.
- Schema aggregation serves your organisation, site and published Writrex page schema as one JSON-LD response at
/wp-json/ca/v1/schema-aggregate(Writrex Lite:/wp-json/writrex/v1/schema-aggregate), rebuilt in the background. - AI bot hit logging (optional) records visits from AI bots with a dashboard, and excludes those visits from WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache and WP Fastest Cache. It stores no IP addresses or personal data. Starter and above add a daily trend chart and log retention from 7 to 180 days.
Page font
In Colour Customiser, choose whether generated pages use your theme's font or Inter served from your own site. New installs use the theme font. Generated pages never load fonts from Google Fonts.
Diagnostics
Enable debug logging only when troubleshooting or when support asks. It adds the Debug Log page and records plugin and API errors. Turn it off afterwards. The Debug Log toggle works on its own, even when WP_DEBUG_LOG is enabled for the site.
Data and uninstall
By default your settings are kept when the plugin is deleted, so a reinstall or a move between Writrex Lite and Writrex loses nothing. Turn on Delete all Writrex settings and data when the plugin is deleted to remove settings, schedules, cache tables, diagnostics, and Ask Writrex chats, reports and Change History. Generated pages, posts, products and media are never removed.
