Writrex is a product of Brand Box Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom (company number 15479920; registered office: Writrex, United Kingdom) ("Brand Box", "we", "us"). Brand Box Limited is the data controller for personal information collected through writrex.com and for licence and support records. You can reach us at hello@writrex.com.

Information we collect on this website

• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and an optional message. We use this to reply to your enquiry and follow up personally.
• Technical data: like most websites, our server may record standard request information such as IP address, browser and pages requested. We use it for security, abuse prevention (for example rate-limiting the form) and reliability.
• Email: if you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.

Third-party resources on this website

This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website, using cookies that are not essential to the site working. These are only switched on if you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you reject or dismiss it, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for writrex.com, which will show the banner again.

If you use the accessibility menu on this website, your choices (such as text size or colours) are saved in your browser's local storage on your device so they apply on your next visit. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. The "Read aloud" option uses your browser's built-in speech voice, and the "Readable font" option loads a font from Google Fonts.

Information in the plugin

The Writrex plugin runs on your own WordPress site. It does not send your content, keywords or settings to us. It contacts only the services you choose to configure, plus:

• The Writrex licence server - only if you activate a paid licence. It receives your licence key and site URL to validate the licence and check for plugin updates.
• IndexNow - only if you enable it. It receives the URL of newly published content.

How we use information

• To deliver downloads, licences and updates.
• To provide support and respond to enquiries.
• To keep our website and services secure.
• To send product update notifications you've asked for. You can opt out at any time.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website, email and payments, and where the law requires.

Retention

We keep contact-form details for as long as we need them to provide updates and support, or until you ask us to delete them.

Legal bases

Under UK data protection law we process personal information to perform a contract with you or take steps you ask for (for example sending a download or handling a licence), for our legitimate interests in running, securing and supporting the product, and where required by law. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of it. To stop update emails or exercise any right, email hello@writrex.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
