Decide which AI reads your site. See which AI actually visits.
ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and other AI tools now answer questions with content from the web. AI Visibility lets you allow or block each AI crawler, logs the AI bots that really reach your pages, and hands AI answer engines your structured data in one clean request.

What is AI Visibility?
AI Visibility is a screen in the Writrex WordPress plugins for managing how AI crawlers and AI answer engines treat your site. It works alongside your SEO plugin and does not change how Google Search or Bing index your pages.
- Crawler rules
- Allow or block nine AI crawlers, one by one, with plain-English descriptions and recommended defaults. Rules are written into robots.txt for you.
- Bot hit log
- An optional, privacy-safe log of which AI bots visit and which pages they read: bot name, time and page path only. No IP addresses.
- Schema feed
- One JSON-LD endpoint with your organisation, site and every published Writrex page, so AI answer engines can read it all in a single request.
- Caching
- Known AI bots are excluded from WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache and WP Fastest Cache so their visits can be counted. Human visitors still get cached pages.
- Cost
- Included in Writrex Lite and every paid plan. No AI provider calls are involved.
- Requires
- Writrex Lite or Writrex 1.1.0 or later, WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+.
Allow the AI that sends you visitors. Block the scrapers.
Not every AI bot is the same. Some fetch your page when a person asks ChatGPT or Claude about it; others bulk-copy the web for training datasets. Choose Allow or Block for each, or use the recommended defaults in one click.
| Bot | Owner | What it does | Recommended |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPTBot | OpenAI | Lets ChatGPT read your content to answer questions about your site | Allow |
| ChatGPT-User | OpenAI | Lets ChatGPT visit your pages live when a user asks it to browse | Allow |
| ClaudeBot | Anthropic | Lets Claude read your content for its answers | Allow |
| Claude-User | Anthropic | Lets Claude visit your pages live when a user asks it to browse | Allow |
| PerplexityBot | Perplexity | Lets Perplexity index your content for its search answers | Allow |
| Google-Extended | Controls whether Google can use your content to train Gemini and power AI Overviews, separate from normal Google Search indexing | Allow | |
| Amazonbot | Amazon | Lets Amazon's AI systems read your content | Allow |
| CCBot | Common Crawl | Bulk web-scraping crawler used to build datasets that many AI models are later trained on | Block |
| Bytespider | ByteDance | Scrapes content for ByteDance's AI training | Block |
Your robots.txt stays yours
Blocked bots are written as a separate, clearly marked block added to robots.txt. Rules from your SEO plugin, or anything you wrote yourself, are left alone.

Search indexing unaffected
These rules cover AI crawlers only. Googlebot and Bingbot, and your rankings in normal search, are not changed.
Rules apply site-wide. Like all robots.txt rules, they rely on crawlers choosing to respect them.
Your whole site's structured data, in one request.
AI answer engines work better with clean facts. Writrex combines your organisation, your website and the schema from every published Writrex page into a single JSON-LD response, so an AI system doesn't have to crawl page by page to understand your business.
- One endpoint:
/wp-json/…/schema-aggregate - Discoverable through a link tag in every page head
- Rebuilt in the background when a Writrex page is published, updated or removed, and at least every 12 hours, so no visitor or crawler waits on it
- No AI provider calls, no extra cost
See which AI bots really read your pages.
Turn on the bot hit log and AI Visibility shows how often each AI crawler visits, when it last came and which pages it reads. It's the quickest way to tell whether ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity can actually see the content you publish.
- Off by default; one toggle to start
- Stores the bot name, time and page path only, never IP addresses or personal data
- Hit counts per bot plus a last-hit column in the rules table
- Caching plugins are detected and AI bots excluded automatically, so visits are counted
| Bot hit log | Writrex Lite | Starter and above |
|---|---|---|
| Hit counts per bot and last hit | Included | Included |
| History kept | Last 7 days, up to 500 rows | You choose, up to 180 days and 50,000 rows |
| Daily trend chart | - | Included |
Smaller logs mean faster queries. We recommend 30 days and 5,000 rows unless you need more.
