About Writrex

What is Writrex?
Writrex is a WordPress plugin by Brand Box Limited (a company registered in the United Kingdom) that uses AI to generate local SEO landing pages, blog posts and WooCommerce content. It scores every page with a 38-check quality gate, saves weak pages as drafts, and also repairs existing-page SEO metadata, audits internal links, writes structured data and tracks rankings. You supply your own AI provider key.
Who is Writrex for?
Agencies, freelancers and site owners who need many useful, distinct local or service pages: for example a plumber's site with a page per service and town, or a WooCommerce store that needs product and category copy. It is less suited to people who want to write every page by hand or who want fully automated publishing with no review.
Does Writrex replace Yoast SEO or Rank Math?
No. They are complementary. Writrex writes content and then fills the titles, meta descriptions and focus keyphrases inside Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress or The SEO Framework. You keep your SEO plugin for on-page analysis, sitemaps and its other features.
What does Writrex require?
WordPress 6.0 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher (8.0+ recommended), plus an API key for at least one AI provider. Google Gemini works on every plan. An SEO plugin is optional but recommended, and WooCommerce is only needed for the WooCommerce tools.
Is Writrex released?
Writrex is in pre-release (version 1.0.0). A fully functional free build is available through the early-access form, and licences will be sold at full release.
Does Writrex work with page builders?
Yes. It creates standard WordPress pages, posts and products that work with any builder. AI writing buttons are built into the Classic Editor, Gutenberg and Elementor. In-builder widgets for WP Bakery, Divi, Oxygen and Bricks are planned.

Pricing, licences and support

How much does Writrex cost?
There is a free plan, and paid annual licences: Starter $49 per year (1 site), Professional $99 (3 sites), Agency $149 (5 sites) and Agency Pro $199 (10 sites). There is no monthly fee and no per-word charge. For more than 10 sites, contact hello@writrex.com. See the pricing page for the full feature matrix.
What does the free plan include?
Three generations per week using Google Gemini on one site, plus the quality score display, output scrubber, SEO plugin sync, structured data, Link Audit, the overlap guard, an existing-page SEO scan and five lifetime existing-page repairs.
Is there a monthly subscription?
No. Paid plans are annual licences. Because you bring your own AI key, you pay your AI provider directly for generation, typically a few cents per page depending on the model.
What is the refund policy?
A full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided the licence key has not been activated on any site. Activated licences cannot be refunded. The free plan lets you test before you buy. See the refund policy.
How many sites can I use a licence on?
Starter covers 1 site, Professional 3, Agency 5 and Agency Pro 10. Activation is tied to each site's domain, and you can free a slot by deactivating a site.
What support do I get?
Every paid licence includes email support at hello@writrex.com, with replies within 24 hours Monday to Friday. Free users can ask in the WordPress.org support forum. See support.

AI providers and data

Which AI providers does Writrex support?
Google Gemini on every plan; OpenAI, Anthropic Claude and Perplexity, plus a fallback provider, from the Starter plan. Perplexity can also run a research step before a writer model drafts the page.
Which AI models can I use?
Whichever text models your API key can access. Writrex discovers available Gemini, OpenAI and Claude models live from your key, so new releases appear without a plugin update. Availability depends on your provider account and region.
Does Writrex send my content or keys to your servers?
No. The plugin runs on your own WordPress site and contacts only the services you configure. The exceptions are IndexNow, which receives the URL of published pages if you enable it, and the Writrex licence server, which receives your licence key and site URL if you activate a paid licence. See Security & data.
What happens to my content if I uninstall Writrex?
Nothing you published is removed. Uninstalling clears Writrex settings, schedules, cache tables and diagnostics; generated pages, posts, products and media stay in place.

Quality and safety

How does the quality gate work?
Every page gets 38 checks: 31 weighted checks produce a score out of 100, and 7 blocking checks must pass regardless of score. When you choose Publish on Starter or above and a page scores below 80 or fails a blocking check, it is saved as a draft instead, with the reasons recorded. See quality gate and checks.
Can I change the 80-point quality threshold?
No. The publish threshold is fixed at 80 out of 100. Blocking checks always apply, and you can still review and approve a draft yourself.
Does Writrex invent reviews, testimonials or prices?
No. Proof comes only from what you supply. Fake-testimonial and unsupported-claim checks run on every page, review and rating schema is never generated from AI output, and a price appears only when it can be matched to the service with confidence.
Will Google penalise content made with Writrex?
Google's published guidance is that it rewards helpful, original content however it is produced. Writrex is designed to raise quality with a quality gate, proof-only content, overlap checks and link validation, but no tool can guarantee rankings, and you should review content before publishing.
Does Writrex bypass AI detectors?
Writrex makes no such promise. Its AI detection shield removes stock AI phrasing, caps repeated place names and varies headings to make pages read less generic. That improves quality; it does not guarantee any detector's result.
What is the overlap and cannibalisation guard?
Before generating a page, Writrex compares the new keyword and area with your existing generated pages. Exact matches are blocked and near matches raise a warning, so you don't publish two pages competing for the same search. See links, related pages and overlap.

SEO, schema and indexing

What is existing-page SEO repair?
A tool that scans pages and posts you already have, proposes better meta titles, meta descriptions and focus keyphrases with AI, and applies them to your SEO plugin with a backup and one-click undo. It never changes page content. The free plan includes 5 lifetime repairs, Starter 15 per month, and Professional and above unlimited. See existing page SEO repair.
Which SEO plugins does Writrex support?
Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress and The SEO Framework. Writrex detects the active plugin and writes the SEO title, meta description and focus keyphrase automatically.
What structured data does Writrex output?
A connected JSON-LD graph with LocalBusiness (or a more specific business type), WebPage, Service, Offer when a real price is known, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList. Blog posts get Article and FAQPage schema and WooCommerce products get Product schema. It skips nodes your SEO plugin already outputs.
Does Writrex support IndexNow and Google Search Console?
Yes, from the Professional plan. IndexNow pings search engines when generated content is published, and Google Search Console connects with your own OAuth credentials for read-only rank, click and impression data.
What is an orphan page and how does Link Audit help?
An orphan page has no internal links pointing to it, so visitors and search engines struggle to find it. Link Audit lists generated pages with no inbound links, and the related-pages shortcode and link suggestions help you fix them.

Content, campaigns and images

Can Writrex write WooCommerce product descriptions?
Yes, from the Starter plan. Give it the real product name, category, price, features and specs and it creates a product draft with long and short descriptions, SEO meta, an optional FAQ and comparison table, a featured image and Product schema. It can also write category descriptions.
Can Writrex generate many pages at once?
Yes, from the Professional plan. Campaigns take a list of keyword and area rows, generate one item per scheduled run at a frequency from every 5 minutes to weekly, and save each page as a draft or publish it. See campaigns and scheduling.
Where do Writrex images come from?
Stock libraries (Pexels, Unsplash, Pixabay, Freepik) or AI image engines (Google Imagen, Nano Banana, OpenAI Image, Pollinations), with modes for stock only, AI only, or either with the other as a fallback. Each needs its own key.
