What's in Writrex.

Voice Writing: talk it through, Writrex writes it up

• New: Voice Writing, a new menu page with Blog post and Page tabs. Press Start talking, describe a real job or customer question, check the brief when Writrex reads it back, and confirm. Writrex picks the title, keyword, area and image from what you said, then writes the post or page with your usual template, brand profile and quality checks.
• New: your browser does the speech-to-text (Chrome, Edge or Safari), so Writrex does not record or store audio and there is no extra cost. It works on every plan.
• New: for blog posts, choose a writing style: business or marketing, a personal story (a diary or lifestyle blog written in your own voice, in the order you told it, with no sales language), or let Writrex decide.
• New: choose whether it is saved as a draft (the default) or published. The quality gate still holds a weak result as a draft.
• New: Voice Writing settings for turning it on or off, automatic read-back, spoken "yes" or "no" confirmation and the speech language (12 languages). See the Voice Writing guide.
• Changed: Change History moved off the Writrex menu. Open it from the Ask Writrex sidebar.
• Changed: Colour Customiser is now the last tab in Template Manager.
• Changed: Business Profile is now called GMB (Business Listing) in the menu.

Business Profile, Suggest local facts and a Gemini key check

• New: Business Profile screen. Enter your business name and town and Writrex looks for your public Google listing, then writes a profile description (within Google's 750 character limit), a services list, three post ideas and review reply templates, with a list of suggested improvements. Nothing is posted to Google: you copy the text into your own profile and check every fact first. It never invents awards, prices or reviews, and says so when it cannot find your listing. Available on all plans with no usage limit.
• New: Suggest local facts on Pages Automator. One click finds real, checkable facts about your target area with source links, and you tick the ones you have confirmed before they are added to Local Signals.
• New: your Gemini key is checked as soon as you paste it in Settings, with a clear message if it is wrong, rate limited or cannot be checked.
• Improved: Business Profile results are removed when "Delete all Writrex settings and data" is on. Your pages and posts are never touched.
• Privacy: the External services section now describes what Suggest local facts, Business Profile and the key check send to Google.

Smart Fields generator

• New: Smart Fields in Pages Automator. One click fills Proof Points, Unique Angle, Customer Pain and Competitor / Market Angle from your keyword, area, brand profile and case studies, in a single AI call.
• New: add at least two nearby areas first, or tick "This business doesn't serve other nearby areas". The AI also suggests extra nearby areas, and nothing is added until you confirm them.
• Existing text in a field is refined, not replaced. Each field has its own Regenerate button that avoids repeating the other fields. Proof Points is left empty when you have given it no facts, so nothing is invented.
• New: brand profile case studies have optional Client / industry and Challenge fields, and a reminder to get permission before naming a real client.
• Starter and above, with no usage limit.

Divi 5 templates

• New: Divi 5 templates. Design your service page in the Divi 5 visual builder and every generated page fills it with its own content.
• New: Writrex fields appear in Divi's own Dynamic Content, so any Heading, Text, Button or Image can show them. The FAQ accordion, related pages and long-form article go in a Text module.
• New templates start from a ready-made 11-section layout with every field connected. Empty fields, and any section left empty, are left out of the page.
• New: make a Divi template your default, and push design updates to pages already generated. Content and SEO are not changed, and each page's previous design can be restored.
• Fix: HTML template cards no longer show "Default" while a block editor or Divi template is your default. One default now applies across HTML, Elementor, block editor and Divi templates.
• Starter: 3 Divi templates. Professional and above: unlimited. Needs the Divi theme or the Divi Builder plugin with Divi 5.

Block editor templates, and Elementor without Elementor Pro

Block editor templates

• New: block editor templates. Design your service page in the WordPress block editor and every generated page fills it with its own content. No page builder needed.
• New: connect core Heading, Paragraph, List item, Button and Image blocks to Writrex fields from the block's Attributes panel. An empty field prints nothing.
• New: Writrex Field, Writrex FAQ and Writrex Related Pages blocks, with color, typography and spacing settings.
• New templates start from an 11-section layout matching the Writrex default page, with every field connected. Make one the default, and push design updates to pages already generated.
• Starter: 3 block editor templates. Professional and above: unlimited. Needs WordPress 6.7 or newer.

Elementor

• New: Elementor templates now work with free Elementor, built from Writrex widgets: Hero, Intro, Features, Process, What's Included, Pricing, Long-form Content, Case Study, FAQ, Call to Action, Related Pages, Field, Button and Image. Each has its own Style tab.
• New: Make default and Remove default on Elementor templates. One default applies across HTML, Elementor and block editor templates.

Elementor templates

• New: Elementor templates. Design local service pages in Elementor and Writrex fills every section (hero, intro, features, process, what's included, pricing, long-form, case study, FAQ, call to action and related pages) plus your business details and contact and phone links, through 93 Writrex dynamic tags in Elementor Pro.
• New: designs start from a ready-made layout with every field connected, and the Writrex Related Pages widget styles the related-pages section (titles, cards, images) from Elementor's Style tab.
• New: Push design. Each generated page keeps its own copy of the design. Push a template's updated design to the pages you choose (one, some or all). Content is untouched, pages edited in Elementor are flagged, and each page's previous design can be restored.
• Fix: related pages no longer repeat the area name after a title that already includes it.
• Starter: 3 Elementor templates. Professional and above: unlimited.

Automatic updates

• Fix: automatic updates did not reach licensed sites. Sites on 1.2.0 or earlier need to install 1.2.1 manually once; later updates arrive automatically.
• New: Check for Updates button in Writrex → Settings → Licence, showing the installed version and a one-click Update now link, plus a Check for updates link on the Plugins screen.
• Improved: new versions show up sooner, and Dashboard → Updates → Check again also refreshes Writrex.
• Improved: if the server refuses a download, for example because the licence does not cover the site, the update check says why.

Ask Writrex, the AI agent inside WordPress

Ask Writrex

• New: Ask Writrex (Writrex → Ask Writrex). Chat with it about your site and it reads your pages, posts, SEO fields, images, menus, CSS and live pages, explains what it finds and suggests fixes. Nothing changes until you press Apply.
• New: works with Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude using your own API keys. Pick the provider, model and effort per chat and switch mid-chat. A busy or rate-limited model falls back to another model from the same provider; it never switches provider on its own. Writrex Lite uses Gemini; OpenAI and Claude are on every paid plan.
• New: suggested changes to SEO titles, meta descriptions, focus keyphrases and canonical URLs (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework), image ALT text, page titles, excerpts, slugs and featured images, page text, single blocks, headings, links, clickable phone numbers and emails, Additional CSS, and new draft posts and pages.
• New: change cards with before-and-after previews, Preview on site, Apply, "I'll do it myself" and Dismiss. Every applied change is checked against the current page first and can be undone with one click.
• New: floating Ask Writrex button and mini chat on every admin screen, including the block editor, with an optional button on the website for logged-in users who can use Ask Writrex.
• New: chat history with search, rename and delete; streaming replies with Stop, Regenerate and Edit; export any chat as Markdown or copy it for another AI tool.
• New: Ask Writrex settings, including "Send page text to the AI provider" and whether Editors can use Ask Writrex.

SEO Reports and Change History

• New: SEO Reports screen. Scan the site for essential SEO issues, save reports with a site score, and fix any issue with Ask Writrex.
• New: live page checks. Ask Writrex and SEO Reports load the published page as a visitor sees it, so H1 and SEO tag findings reflect what your theme actually prints. A change that would leave a page with no H1 is refused.
• New: Change History screen listing every change made through Ask Writrex, with Undo.

Links (Writrex)

• New: Link Building screen (Writrex → Link Building). With web search turned on, Writrex finds local directories, associations, local press, partners and unlinked mentions for your business, and keeps only ideas whose pages appear in the search results and load. Track each idea as To do, Done or Skip, add notes, and have Ask Writrex draft outreach emails for you to send yourself.
• New: internal link suggestions. Ask Writrex finds pages that should link to each other and suggests linking an existing phrase, with Apply and Undo. SEO Reports adds Orphaned pages and Few internal links checks.

Improvements

• Page builder awareness: Elementor, Divi, WPBakery and other builder pages are detected, and only changes that are safe for them are offered.
• The admin menu is reordered so related screens sit together, with Ask Writrex, SEO Reports and Change History alongside the existing tools.
• Privacy: the plugin's External services section describes exactly what Ask Writrex sends to each AI provider. OpenAI requests are made with storage switched off.
• Uninstall: Ask Writrex chats, reports and Change History are removed when "Delete all Writrex settings and data" is on. Your pages and posts are never touched.
• Moving from Writrex Lite: Ask Writrex chats, SEO reports and Change History carry across.

AI Visibility

AI Visibility

• New: AI Visibility screen (Writrex → AI Visibility).
• New: per-bot allow and block rules for AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and others), written into robots.txt as a separate marked block that leaves the rest of the file alone.
• New: schema aggregation endpoint combining your organisation, site and published Writrex page schema in one JSON-LD response, rebuilt in the background so no request waits on it.
• New: optional AI bot hit logging with a dashboard, and automatic cache exclusion for WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache and WP Fastest Cache. It stores no IP addresses or personal data.
• New: Starter and above get a daily trend chart and configurable log retention (7 to 180 days, up to 50,000 rows).
• New: AI Visibility settings and logged hits carry over from Writrex Lite.

Design, privacy and security

• New: page font setting in the Colour Customiser. Generated pages can use your theme's font, or Inter served from your own site. New installs use the theme font; sites that already have generated pages keep Inter.
• Privacy: generated pages and admin previews no longer load fonts from Google Fonts.
• Security: Chart.js and jsPDF are now bundled with the plugin instead of loaded from public CDNs. jsPDF is updated to 4.2.1, which fixes its published security advisories, and only loads when you download a PDF report.
• Fix: the Debug Log toggle in Settings now controls debug logging on its own. It previously stayed on whenever WP_DEBUG_LOG was enabled for the site.
