A big Start talking button opens a full-screen recorder. Speak naturally, pause when you need to and carry on. Writrex keeps listening for up to ten minutes and joins it all together. 02 · Check ### Hear it back before anything is written. Writrex reads your brief aloud so you catch a misheard town or a wrong number. Edit the text, add more, or start again. Nothing is written until you confirm. 03 · Write ### Your facts in, a finished draft out. One small AI call picks the title, keyword, area and image. Then the normal pipeline writes it, scores it on 38 checks and saves it, with your story as the source material. Why it matters ## Your experience is the one thing AI cannot fake. Generic AI writes what everyone else's AI writes. A burst pipe in Headingley, the odd thing you found behind a boiler, the reason you never use that part: that is first-hand experience, and it is exactly what search engines and readers look for. These are the controls, and what each one is for. ### Blog post or Page The two tabs on the Voice Writing screen. A blog post can be advice, a story or a tip. A page is a service or location page, so you also mention the town or area. If you forget it, Writrex takes you back to your brief and asks. ### Writing style (blog posts) Automatic, Business or marketing, or Personal story. Automatic reads what you said and decides. Choose it yourself when you know: a diary-style post should not end with a sales pitch. ### When it is written Save as draft so I can check it (the default) or Publish straight away. Even on Publish, the quality gate holds a weak result as a draft, like everywhere else in Writrex. ### Read my brief back to me On by default. After you stop talking, Writrex reads your brief aloud. Hearing it is the fastest way to spot a misheard word. The Read back button is always there if you switch this off. ### Say "yes" or "no" to confirm Off by default. Turn it on to confirm hands-free after the read-back. It needs automatic read-back and works best in Chrome. The buttons always work too. ### Default speech language Match my site language, or pick one of 12: six English variants (US, UK, Australia, Ireland, India, South Africa), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch. The right language keeps names and places accurate. **Turn on Voice Writing** is the master switch in *Settings → Voice Writing*. Switch it off and the menu screen tells you where to turn it back on. Nothing else about your site changes. Two ways to write ## A sales page and a diary entry are not the same post. Most tools wrap every post in the same marketing frame. Voice Writing lets a story stay a story. A minute or two of specifics gives one only you could have written. - Start with one real job, customer question or story - Say the town, the street, the part, the price, the time it took - Give your opinion: what you would tell a friend to do - For a page, say the service, where you offer it and what makes you different - Aim for 40 words or more. Writrex nudges you if it is shorter - Check the read-back for names and numbers before you confirm FAQ ## Questions about Voice Writing. ### What is Voice Writing? Voice Writing is a screen in Writrex where you talk about a real job, customer question or experience and Writrex writes a blog post or page from it. Your browser turns your speech into text, you check it when Writrex reads it back, and the normal generator does the rest with your template, brand profile and quality checks. ### Which plans include Voice Writing? It is included in every Writrex plan, from Starter to Agency Elite, with no usage limit of its own. It is not in Writrex Lite yet; it is the next feature planned for the free plugin. ### Does Writrex record or store my voice? No. Your browser does the speech-to-text and Writrex only receives the text you confirm. In Chrome the browser sends audio to Google to transcribe it, and in Edge to Microsoft. That is the browser's service, and Writrex does not store the audio. ### Does it cost extra? No. Speech-to-text is done by your browser at no charge. The writing itself uses your normal AI provider, the same as any other post or page, and counts towards the same daily limits. ### Will it make up things I did not say? It is told not to. Your spoken notes are treated as first-hand source material: real facts, places and numbers are kept, and Writrex does not invent jobs, customers, results or numbers. It may add general background, kept separate from your own experience. A name that looks misheard is kept as written and flagged for you to check. Always read the draft before you publish. ### Can I use it in languages other than English? The recorder supports 12 speech languages: six English variants, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch. Pick a default in Settings or change it in the recorder. ### Why does it not work in Firefox? Firefox does not support the browser speech-to-text that Voice Writing uses. Use Chrome, Edge or Safari to talk, or type your notes. Read-back works in Firefox. ### Will it publish without me checking? Only if you choose Publish straight away. The default is to save a draft. Even when you choose Publish, the quality gate holds a weak result as a draft. ### What is the difference between Business and Personal story? Business or marketing writes an SEO post with structure, proof and a call to action. Personal story writes a first-person account in the order you told it, with no sales language, FAQ or conclusion, for diary and lifestyle blogs. Automatic chooses for you based on what you said.
